Universal Music Group announced that Matt Voss has been promoted to
Executive President of International, East Coast Labels. The
announcement was made by Ivan Gavin, Chief Operating Officer of East
Coast Lavels who Voss will report to.
UMG's
East Coast labels include Island, Def Jam, Motown and Universal
Republic. As Executive Vice President, International, Voss will be
in charge of overseas marketing, publicity and promotion of these
labels.
"Matt's leadership and real track record
of success has proved indispensable when it comes to developing
artists globally," Gavin said in a statement. "Given the company's
continued expansion, there is no one better suited to lead our
international efforts."
Before his promotion,
Voss was the Senior Vice President for UMG's East Coast Labels. His
international experience comes from his six year stint as Senior
Vice President, International of Island Def Jam. He also served as
Vice President, Marketing for Universal Music Group International.
Voss has worked closely on global campaigns for Rihanna, Bon Jovi,
Justin Bieber, Ne-Yo, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Of Monsters and Men,
The Killers, Lil Wayne and Jessie J, among others.
Before joining UMG, he worked at MCA Records in the U.K. and
Virgin Records in Londan and New York City. He is now based in NYC.
