C-MURDER SPARKS INVESTIGATION

Ben Baller’s Diamond-Studded Yeezy Pendant

Ben Baller went above and beyond for this one. Get Kanye on the phone.

Ben Baller’s name is a pretty good representation of who he is. As the premier jeweler for celebrities (particularly rappers), he’s been named checked in more than a few songs, and has made custom pieces for quite a few emcees. He’s not just a seller though, as he makes his own jewelry, and this latest piece is probably going to be his most coveted to date.

Katt Williams Faces Charges
For his latest trick, Ben Baller created a custom Yeezy Boost 350 pendant. The detailing is impressive, including the ‘YZY’ inlay on the midfoot and the accuracy of the sole ribbing. Made up of rose gold and inlaid with quite a few diamonds, this thing is the ultimate confluence of things that are hyped and things that are actually worth a ton of money. The number of diamonds on this bit of wealth hasn’t been officially released, but we’d venture it’s well over 50. If someone in the comments wants to nail down a more definite number, please be our guest.

Katt Williams Faces Charges For Punching 17-Year-Old

Katt Wiliams has been charged with disorderly conduct and bond violation for sucker-punching a teenager last week.

Williams attempted to explain that he was trying to teach the bad-mannered teen a lesson during a stand-up performance at the Barclays Center this past weekend, but regardless of his intentions, the comedian is now facing charges of disorderly conduct for his role in the fight.

During the time of the fight, Williams was currently out of jail on bond for a previous charge, and due to the recent incident of disorderly conduct, his bond has now been revoked. Williams has agreed to turn himself in, reportsWSB-TV, though it's unclear when he will be taken into custody.

Williams' attorney, Drew Findling, who happens also to be Offset's lawyer, will argue that his client was intensely provoked before delivering the first punch and that the 17-year-old in question, Luke Wash, was the primary instigator of the fight.

Kwanzaa consists of a week of celebrations...

Kwanzaa is a week-long holiday honoring African culture and traditions. It falls between December 26 and January 1 each year. Maulana Karenga, an African-American leader, proposed this observance and it was first celebrated between December 1966 and January 1967.

What Do People Do?

Kwanzaa is a holiday honoring the culture and traditions of people of African origin. It is celebrated by people from a range of African countries and their descendants. Kwanzaa consists of a week of celebrations, which ends with a feast and the exchange of gifts. During the celebrations, candles are lit and libations are poured. A libation is the name given to a ritual pouring of a drink as an offering to a god. During Kwanzaa, a wooden unity cup is used to pour the libations.
A Kwanzaa ceremony often also includes performance of music and drumming, a reflection on the Pan-African colors of red, green and black and a discussion of some aspect of African history. Women often wear brightly colored traditional clothing. Some cultural organizations hold special exhibitions of African influenced art or performances during the period of the celebrations.

Originally the people observing Kwanzaa did not mix any elements of other festivals into their celebrations. However, in recent years, it has become increasingly common for people to mix elements of Kwanzaa with Christmas or New Year celebrations. For instance, a family may have both a Christmas tree and a Kwanzaa candle stick on display in their home. This enables them to include both Christian and African inspired traditions in their lives at this time of year.
Apart from New Year's Day (January 1), the days on which Kwanzaa falls are not public holidays. It is largely a private celebration observed by individuals, families and local communities. However, it falls between Christmas and New Year's Day, when some businesses and organizations may be closed or run fewer services. If you need to do business with a company or organization with an African-American orientation during this period, it may be wise to check whether they are open as usual.
The main symbols of Kwanzaa are a mat, on which to put the things needed for the celebration, the unity cup used to pour libations, a candle stick holding seven candles, the seven candles, ears of corn, the Kwanzaa flag and a poster depicting the seven principles of Kwanzaa. The seven principles of Kwanzaa are: unity; self-determination; collective work and responsibility; co-operative economics; purpose; creativity; and earth.
The colors of Kwanzaa are red, black and green. The Kwanzaa flag consists of three blocks, one in each of these colors. Three of the seven candles are red, three are green and one is black. Each candle represents one of the principles of Kwanzaa. The candle holder is carved from a single piece of wood and its shape was inspired by the form of the Ashanti royal throne.
Kwanzaa was first celebrated in December 1966 and January 1967. The holiday was proposed by Maulana Karenga to give those of African descent a holiday to celebrate their own cultural heritage and the key values of family and community.  Although seen as an alternative to Christmas and thus possibly anti-Christian in the early years, many people now observe aspects of both festivals.

In 1997 and 2004, the United States Postal Service honored Kwanzaa by issuing stamps depicting an aspect of the festival. In 1997, the stamp was designed by Synthia Saint James and showed an African-American family observing the celebrations. In 2004, the stamp was designed by Daniel Minter and shows seven figures representing the seven principles of Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa gained popularity quite quickly. It is now estimated that about 13 percent of African-Americans (nearly five million people) celebrate the festival in some way.

50 Cent Suing Rick Ross For $2 Million Over Mixtape Track

50 Cent has filed a lawsuit (Dec. 23) against Rick Ross for rapping over his "In Da Club" beat as a means to promote Black Market, his eighth studio album,Billboard can confirm. The MMG boss did a remix of 50 Cent's 2003 hit on his#RenzelRemixes mixtape, released Nov. 27.

In statements sent to Billboard from 50 Cent's publicist, the Queens rapper's attorneys say they are working to preserve their client's reputation.
"50 Cent's most valuable asset is the name and reputation he has painstakingly built through his Grammy-winning music, acting, and business endeavors," said Paul LiCalsi, partner and co-chair of the Entertainment and Media Litigation Group at Robins Kaplan LLP. "He chooses his projects carefully for the very purpose of protecting that name and reputation."
"Our complaint alleges that Rick Ross has taken these without permission to advertise his own album, and violated 50 Cent's rights in the process, and we believe he should be held liable," LiCalsi notes of the suit, first reported by TMZ.
Craig Weiner, partner at Robins Kaplan LLP, adds, "We will use every legal tool available to remedy what we allege is an unauthorized use of 50 Cent's name, identity, and trademark. 50 Cent actively and generously collaborates with fellow hip-hop artists, but we maintain that this is a case of outright misappropriation. 50 Cent had absolutely nothing to do with Black Market or the mixtape that preceded it."
50 CentThis isn't the first legal battle pitting 50 Cent versus Ross. In 2010, 50 was ordered to pay $7 million after posting a sex tape during their ongoing feud that featured a Florida woman, said to be the mother of Ross' child.
Earlier this year, the rappers fired shots at each other on Instagram when Ross mentioned 50's son, who applied to be an intern at MMG.
50 Cent is seeking $2 million in his lawsuit. Billboard has reached out to a rep for Ross for comment but did not hear back at time of publication.

Tupac Biopic Taps Newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. for Lead Role

Filming of Morgan Creek's Tupac Shakur biopic, All Eyez On Me, is underway and the actor playing the leading role has been revealed to be unknown actor Demetrius Shipp, Jr.
There's only one Biggie Smalls! Of course, we mean the actual late rapper — but we're also talking about his on screen portrayer Jamal Woolard! The actor will be reprising his role as Christopher Wallace in the upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me, which follows the story of the rapper's rise to stardom, his time at Death Row Records, and his 1996 slaying in Las Vegas! Woolard totally nailed playing the East Coast rap legend back in 2009 in the titular role of Notorious!
We're told the biopic covers the rapper's entire life, including his murder in 1996.The Tupac biopic All Eyez on Me will star an actor cast, it seems, almost exclusively because he looks just like the man. Demetrius Shipp Jr., who will play Shakur in the film All Eyez on Me, has a single professional acting credit to his name from the upcoming TV movie #Unlock’d. While casting an unknown isn’t necessarily something to be met with sneers or cynicism, it seems Shipp may have been cast purely for his looks.

Demetrius Shipp Jr. portrays Tupac Shakur in "All Eyez on Me,"
Just four days after filming began on Dec. 17 for a movie about the life of hip hop legend Tupac Shakur, the recently-finished script was shown by an alleged hacker to an undercover federal agent.
TMZ broke the news with exclusive photos, while Shipp, Jr. has shared several more photos and videos from the film's set. So far Shipp, Jr.'s film credits are limited to the made-for-TV movie #unlock'd, but what he might lack in experience he makes up for in his resemblance to the late hip-hop icon.

Production sources tell us Demetrius' father worked in the music biz, and crossed paths with Tupac when Demetrius was a kid, and he's been a huge fan ever since.
We're told producer L.T. Hutton approached Demetrius to star as the rapper in no small part because of the obvious similarities. He immediately took some crash acting classes ... 4 times a week. -
