Rap star Game is growing his weed business thanks to a new deal with a company called Be Lit Brands.

Be Lit will create a line of accessories for the Compton rap stars “Trees by Game” new cannabis brand.

Be Lit specializes in designing high-quality cannabis strain-inspired soy candles, cannabis rolling trays, apparel, and more.

According to Game, he found the company and their products, while he was visiting the BIG Industry Show and High Times Business Expo in Los Angeles in January.

Trey Songz Rejects Plea Deal For Giving Cop A Concussion

Lawyers for R&B crooner Trey Songz declined a plea deal in his assault case yesterday (March 3).

Trey emerged in court yesterday via video conference.

Prosecutors offered the singer a plea deal, to avoid a felony assault charge against a police officer, for a misdemeanor charge, instead.

Trey was charged with assaulting an officer, after a performance at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, in December 2016.

The singer was infuriated when a stagehand at the arena cut off his microphone because his show went over its allotted time.

Trey Songz flipped out and started flinging objects from the stage, including a microphone, which struck a cameraman on the head.

Trey is also accused of striking a police sergeant in the head, which gave the officer a concussion

Even though Trey Songz rejected the plea deal yesterday, the option to take the plea remains on the table.

If he pleads guilty, Trey Songz will have to serve two years of probation and be subject to alcohol screening and anger management training.

However, if Trey Songz is prosecuted for the crime, he faces up to four years in prison for the incident, which gave the officer a concussion.

The Georgia House of Representatives approved two tax break bills

The Georgia House of Representatives approved two tax break bills Friday targeting the state's music industry.

House Bill 155, which passed 157-11 and now moves to the state Senate, would offer a 15 percent tax credit for live musical or theatrical performances in Georgia that spend at least $500,000 in a taxable year. Recorded musical performances incorporated into a film, television or interactive entertainment production would get the credit on all spending of at least $250,000 while other recorded musical performances would qualify for a credit on all spending of at least $100,000.

Supporters said Georgia's music industry was left out in the cold while the film industry received generous tax credits during the last nine years that have boosted Georgia to No. 3 in the nation in film production.

"This bill will hopefully keep most our talent in Georgia rather than draining it away to other states," said Rep. Lee Hawkins, R-Gainesville.

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Amy Carter, R-Valdosta, includes a five-year sunset provision. The tax credit would be capped at $5 million next year, $10 million in 2019 and $15 million during 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The House also passed a second related bill to exempt music royalties generated in Georgia from the state's income tax.

The measure took a circuitous route to passage. After initially going down in defeat late Friday afternoon, House members voted to reconsider rejecting the bill.

During the dinner break, Rep. Matt Dollar, R-Marietta, the legislation's chief sponsor, agreed to an amendment clarifying that the tax exemption would only apply during the artist's lifetime and could not go to heirs. The House then passed the bill 97-65 Friday night.

Charles Oakley says he’s worried only about clearing his record

Charles Oakley says he hasn’t been in  touch with the Knicks or the NBA lately and doesn’t know if he will ever set foot inside Madison Square Garden again in the wake of his physical altercation with security last month.

The former Knicks player, speaking Thursday night before an autograph signing at the Steiner Sports store at Roosevelt Field Mall, indicated that he believes the next move belongs to the Knicks if they want to broker peace with him.

Dressed in a dark polo shirt, pants and jacket, Oakley was part combative, part coy during a five-minute interview as dozens of Knicks fans awaited a chance to meet him.“They’re the ones that said things about me,” he said.

Oakley expressed disappointment that NBA commissioner Adam Silver hasn’t stayed in touch with him after the Feb. 13 meeting that involved Silver, Oakley and Knicks owner James Dolan. Michael Jordan, a friend of Oakley’s who owns the Charlotte Hornets, took part on a conference call.

Oakley said he spoke with Silver at a brunch during All-Star Weekend but haven’t been in touch since then.

When Oakley’s comments were relayed to Silver, the commissioner said: “I’m available to talk or meet with Charles any time he wants. I didn’t know he was waiting to hear from me.”“Why call a meeting if you’re not going to stay engaged with what’s going on?” Oakley said. “Hey, I’m going on with my life. I’m going to do what I have to do from here on in.”

Oakley said his top priority is clearing his record of the three counts of misdemeanor assault in the third degree he received as a result of the incident with Madison Square Garden security early in the Feb. 8 Knicks game. His first court appearance is April 11.

Oakley also seemed somewhat bemused by the attention he received for sitting next to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert when they hosted the Knicks on Feb. 23. “I’ve talked to Dan, sat with Dan many times,” he said. “I was at the playoff game. It’s not the first time.”

He added that he’s received a lot of support from Knicks fans.

“Kids came up to me during All-Star Weekend saying, ‘I’m sorry what happened,’ ” he said. “That goes to my heart, you know, when people show me the love.”

On Tuesday, (Feb. 21) prosecutors said according to Roof’s GPS location, he exited the interstate and drove toward Branch AME Church in Jedburg where an advertisement for bible study was on display. Federal prosecutors, sighting from newly unsealed documents, say it was at this time Roof’s GPS was shut off indicating he got out of the car.

However, the only reason why Roof didn’t go through with his plan was because he was “too tired” from having committed his first crime. Roof was sentenced to death last month after a jury found him guilty of 33 federal charges stemming from the 2015 crime. Roof is now awaiting his second-death penalty trial in state court.

Georgia Teen Shot Dead After His Girlfriend’s Father Thought He Was An Intruder

A community in Georgia is left stunned after 17-year-old Jordan Middleton was pronounced dead on Saturday (Feb. 25). A reported misunderstanding that began with the high school basketball star being snuck into a Columbia County home by the homeowner’s daughter, ended with one fatal shot, according to local station WJBF.

Middleton reportedly snuck into the home in the Grovetown neighborhood around 2:47 a.m. with the aid of the 14-year old girl. The incident quickly turned deadly, after the young teen’s father heard noises and the family dog’s aggressive barking. After grabbing his gun, the father, who has now been identified as Derrick Fulton, began to search the house for an intruder. Fulton initially called out that he was armed and demanded that the intruder show himself, but no one answered, according to authorities. The dog then led him to the guest bedroom, where Fulton entered. As the homeowner yelled out another warning, Middleton reportedly ran out of the guest bedroom closet, causing Fulton to fire his weapon.

No charges have been brought to the Fulton family at this time.
