New Yeezy Boosts

New Yeezy Boosts are just weeks away.

Image result for "Grey/Gum" Adidas yeezyA few weeks ago, Kim Kardashian [West] debuted a new "Grey/Gum" Adidas Yeezy Boost 750 and today we have some more information about that pair of kicks.

The high top Yeezy Boosts, which will reportedly feature a glow in the dark sole, are rumored to be hitting retailers on June 11th ($350) and select pairs have already popped up at spots like RIF LA.
Furthermore, numerous colorways of a new Yeezy Boost 650 have also been unveiled in recent weeks so there's a good chance this "Grey/Gum" Yeezy Boost 750 is just the beginning of a big summer for Kanye West and Adidas.

Wiz Khalifa Sues Former Manager & Rostrum Records For Unfair "360 Deal"

Wiz Khalifa has filed a lawsuit against his former manager, Benjy Grinberg, and his record label Rostrum Records for pressuring him into an unfavorable "360 deal."

Image result for wiz khalifaWiz dropped Grinberg as his manager in 2014, though it seems that his deal with Rostrum has continued to this day. His contract with Rostrum is apparently a "360 deal," and Wiz and his legal team are now arguing that it was initiated against his best interests by Grinberg. Yesterday (May 31), Wiz filed a lawsuit against Grinberg and Rostrum with which he hopes to escape his longtime contract. In his suit, Wiz alleges that, in drafting his contract, Grinberg and Rostrum were "faithless fiduciaries in direct contravention of their obligations to him," reports Variety.
"An artist's most trusted advisor is his or her personal manager," said Alex Weingarten, Khalifa's attorney at Venable LLP. "Generally, nothing good comes out when the manager decides to go into business against his artist. Unfortunately, that is the case here."

The lawsuit contends that Grinberg took advantage of his young client in order to impel him into a contract that has "reached for more than a decade into virtually every aspect" of his career. Wiz and his attorneys believe that the contract, as well as amendments subsequently made by Grinberg, shows that his former manager deliberately failed to mention alternative business arrangements that would have been beneficial for him to know.

Grinberg said he was "very disappointed and surprised" in a statement responding to yesterday's lawsuit. "To witness an artist turn on you after supporting them for a number of years is very disheartening. This is an egregious lawsuit filled with inaccuracies, yet unfortunately people sometimes resort to these practices as a way of conducting business."

Wiz hopes to end his deal with Rostrum Records, which he feels is justifiable under the California Labor Code's seven-year rule, and he is seeking compensatory damages of $1 million from Grinberg and Rostrum, along with punitive damages and attorney fees.

"This Saturday...I'm going off...I am the DJ for the first hour," he captioned a photo of his Lambo parked in front of a VIEWS artpiece at what appears to be his L.A. YOLO estate. Drake will often host his radio show, but it's a little more rare for him to do a mix, so this should be one to remember.

When Will It Stop: Lil Wayne Says ‘F*ck Birdman’ Once Again...

lil-wayne-skate-board-gettyIf there was still any confusion about how Lil Wayne feels about his former mentor Birdman, the Young Money leader made it clear during a recent show at the Comerica Theater in Phoenix. Tunechi told the crowd exactly what he thinks about the Cash Money co-founder.
“Before I go any further I want y’all to know I got two new albums coming y’all way,” Wayne told the audience. “Let me hear you say, ‘F-ck the bullsh-t’… Say, ‘F-ck the world’… Say, ‘F-ck the Birdman’… and f-ck Cash Money.”
This public outburst comes just days after Weezy also cursed Cash Money in Denver. That was preceded by Wayne taking a photo with Birdman’s adversaries Trick Daddy and Rick Ross where the “A Milli” rhymer was seen raising his middle finger to the camera.
There have been reports that Wayne and Birdman’s legal talks over the release of Tha Carter V album and unpaid profits have ended. Wayne is suing Birdman and CMR for $51 million.

Gun Hidden In Car That Brought Troy Ave To Hospital Matches Deadly Bullet

Image result for troy ave updateMANHATTAN, NY - After Troy Ave pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon on Monday (May 30), investigators found that a gun recovered from a hidden compartment in a van matched the bullet that killed his bodyguard Ronald "Banga" McPhatter, DNAinfo reports. The vehicle is what transported Ave to a local hospital after he was shot in the leg.

The shooting broke out at New York's Irving Plaza Wednesday (May 25). Three were wounded, including the BSB rapper, whose real name is Roland Collins. Banga was the only fatality.
According to PIX 11, investigators are now looking for a second suspect who might have shot at Ave and McPhatter.

The prosecution was building its case with a surveillance video that shows someone who has been identified as Ave firing a gun in a green room area at the venue. However, his lawyers claim the video only tells part of the story and their client was acting in self defense. Initial reports alleged that he shot himself in the leg, a claim his legal team refutes.

Image result for troy ave updateSources say that someone who has had an ongoing feud with Ave confronted the rapper prior to the scene that the surveillance video shows. It reportedly developed into a fistfight and then the second suspect took out a gun and fired Ave in the leg and Banga in the chest.

Kraftwerk loses German Hip-Hop Copyright

Early rumors circulated that fellow Brooklyn, New York rapper Maino, who performed with Uncle Murda as the opening act for T.I. at the show, was the one who confronted Troy Ave.Maino took to Instagram to deny his involvement in the shooting and call for unity among the borough's rap scene.

Model Maggie Carrie Heckstall, who is Maino's girlfriend, was shot in the leg and is reportedly preparing a lawsuit against those involved in the incident, including Live Nation who owns Irving Plaza. Her lawyers also sent a sent a cease-and-desist letter to the NYPD because they reportedly posted up at her hospital room and would not allow her family to visit her. She is claiming they harassed her for information regarding the shooting.

Kraftwerk loses German hip-hop copyright case in top court

Germany's highest court has ruled in favour of a hip-hop artist who used a two-second sample of music from the pioneering electro-pop band Kraftwerk.

Kraftwerk perform in Skopje, 16 Jun 2005
Kraftwerk's Ralf Hutter sued Moses Pelham, alleging that his use of the clip, without asking, infringed the band's intellectual property rights.
But the German Constitutional Court decided that the impact on Kraftwerk did not outweigh "artistic freedom".

The sample came from the cult band's 1977 song Metal On Metal.
The dispute centres on a short drum sequence looped repeatedly in the song Nur Mir (Only Me) by Sabrina Setlur.
In 2012 Germany's Federal Court of Justice (Bundesgerichtshof) ruled that Setlur's song should no longer be promoted, agreeing with Hutter that it amounted to copyright infringement.

Now the constitutional court in Karlsruhe has sent the case back to the federal court, saying it must reassess the case.
The top court believes that blocking Pelham's sample would "practically exclude the creation of pieces of music in a particular style".

In November Hutter had told the Karlsruhe court that it was incumbent on Pelham, as a fellow musician, to ask permission before creating the sample. Pelham copied the track in 1997.
Before Tuesday's ruling the German Federal Union of the Music Industry warned that an attitude of "artistic freedom trumps everything" could have far-reaching consequences. The union's director Florian Druecke said such a position "would be grist to the mill for those who claim that everything should be allowed on the internet".
German media say Pelham got support from the singer Sarah Connor, rapper Bushido and reggae musician Gentleman.
