A Grammy Award-winning music icon and two of hip hop’s brightest new stars have been added to the performance lineup.
The biggest night in music just got bigger now that Grammy Award-winning Usher and two of hip hop's newest stars, 2 Chainz and Big Sean, have been added to the list of performers who will touch the stage at the BET Awards 2012.
Usher returns to the stage for the first time since 2010 when he performed his love ballad "There Goes My Baby" off the Raymond vs. Raymond album. Backed by a full orchestra, Usher dazzled the audience then and is prepared to deliver a repeat performance now.
Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz, one of the hottest new acts out, will perform for the first time at the BET Awards this year. The "Spend It" rapper will join Kanye West protégé Big Sean. Although he's a still a fresh face in the game, Sean is no stranger to the BET Awards stage after performing last year with Chris Brown. The 24-year-old Detroit MC is nominated for three BET Awards this year — Best New Artist, Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best Collaboration for his song "Marvin & Chardonnay" with Kanye West and Roscoe Dash.
Usher, 2 Chainz and Big Sean will join Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown, who were the first two names to sign up for duty on the big night.
The BET Awards 2012 will air Sunday, July 1 on BET and Centric.
