Billie Joe Armstrong has been tapped as a mentor for NBC's The Voice, reports The Associated Press. The Green Day frontman will join Christina Aguilera's team to help advise contestants in the singing competition.
"[The Voice is] not molding artists, it's just giving them a
little bit of guidance and direction without giving them a complete
makeover," said Armstrong in a statement. Armstrong began taping for the
upcoming third season of The Voice on July 25th.
The third season of The Voice premieres September 10th. Green Day has an upcoming album trilogy, entitled ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡TrĂ©!, with Uno! set for a September 25th release. Earlier this month, Mary J. Blige joined The Voice as a mentor for Adam Levine's team.
