Today, mourners gathered to say goodbye to Kile Glover, the 11-year-old
son of Tameka Raymond and television executive Ryan Glover. Kile's
former stepfather, Usher, was in attendance, according to multiple news
outlets.
Wieuca
Road Baptist Church was the site of the service which was arranged by
Phaedra Parks and Watkins Funeral Home. According to Sister 2 Sister,
Kile was dressed in a white suit with sunglasses. His body was
reportedly escorted to the service via a white horse-drawn carriage.
Inside
the funeral program, family shared a personal postcard Kile sent from
his iPhone while on vacation. "Hello from paradise, wishing you were
here," it read. "Our vacation is everything we have hoped for and more.
We're also excited to come home to family and friends." The young boy
was also honored with a video titled, "A Beautiful Mind."
Kile
was left in critical condition after a jet ski accident on July 6. He
and a teenage friend were riding on an inner tube pulled behind a
pontoon boat when they were struck by a jet ski. The man operating the
jet ski, 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard, is identified as a family
friend. Glover was pronounced brain dead soon afterwards. He died last
weekend after being taken off life support.
Tameka tweeted that
she's setting up a fund in Kile's memory. "I appreciate the hundreds,
perhaps thousands of prayers," she tweeted. "I'm so grateful to you
guys. Kile was the most fun, creative, sweet, respectful boy. Many have
asked where to send flowers. But in lieu of flowers, we ask that you
make a contribution to the Kile Glover Fund at Bank of America."
Tameka's
goal is to raise awareness for water safety by "implementing laws,
policies and education." Tameka promises that Kile's passing will not be
in vain.
