Money comes and goes in life, and right now it seems as if the Money Team is about to go broke. Not financially of course, but the friendship between 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. looks like it’s headed for life support. Why? 50 Cent is about to start a boxing promotions company with Manny Pacquiao.
If it’s on 50’s mind, then it’s sure to matriculate throughout the media. Always the promoter, 50 has been making his rounds on the radio lately and hasn’t held his tongue about his Money Team friend. He was quoted on the Rickey Smiley show recently as saying that Floyd Mayweather isnt’t the same since he’s gotten out of prison. Earlier this week with Power 105.1 Breakfast Club Morning Show, 50 said this,
"Floyd is a friend of mine," 50 Cent said. "I look at Floyd like he's my younger brother. He earns so much that he just spends it. He just run around and spend it; he spend it and do what he want, so there's no urgency to anything. And then when the communicatio n breaks and it starts to not be... look, my concept of The Money Team is the fights you want to see. It's Floyd, Manny Pacquiao, the fight."
From the outside, this looks like Floyd is not the same since he’s got out of prison, but who really is? 50 Cent’s original idea for The Money Team was to be a boxing promotions company featuring himself, Mayweather and Pacquiao. 50 feels that he’s been patient as he can be with Mayweather in regards to making the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight happen. 50 isn’t getting what he wants from Floyd and out of spite he’s moving forward with the promotions company without Floyd but with competition, Manny Pacquiao.
Didn’t The Game and Young Buck get kicked out of G-Unit for not being loyal? Isn’t it safe to say that as Floyd Mayweather’s friend, starting a boxing promotions company with Manny Pacquiao is very disloyal on 50’s part?
Is 50’s new business venture going to be the reason that The Money Team goes broke? I don’t think so, men have a special trait in our DNA called the Friendship Regeneration Gene. No matter what happens, the beef dies down and the bromance comes back life.
But who cares what I think. Do you all think 50 is being disloyal to Floyd Mayweather?
