Kanye West Pulls Out of VMAs

Kanye West has made pulled out of an appearance very last-minute for last night’s MTV Video Music Awards. According to the Daily Mail, Kanye cancelled his appearance after deciding he didn’t want to attend last night’s awards show without girlfriend Kim Kardashian in New York City.

Kim had already committed to a prior engagement in New York for Fashion’s Night Out. She will be promoting her True Reflecion perfume at Lord & Taylor. A source told theDaily Mail:

“Kim’s in New York for her fragrance launch and Kanye didn’t want to go to the VMAs if she couldn’t be there.”

Kanye was not scheduled to perform, but he does have two nominations for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Editing.

Taylor Swift can breathe a sigh of relief! Kanye made headlines in 2009 when he interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech after she won the award for Best Female Video. This year’s host Kevin Hart threatened to put Kanye in a seatbelt so he didn’t do it again. Kim and Kanye both appeared in a promo commercial for the VMAs alongside Kevin Hart.
