Tyler Perry is sharing unfortunate news with his legions of dedicated fans today. Due to bootleggers, scalpers and Internet impersonators, Tyler Perry is canceling the last leg of his touring stage play, Madea Gets A Job.
In a lengthy note posted to his website, Perry writes, "I set the ticket price for the show starting at $25. The reason I set the price so low is so that everyone could get a chance to come out and see the show… I do not tour to make a living, I tour because I love staying connected to all of you." He went on to share that even though he sets the ticket prices low, promoters tack on fees that nearly double the cost. "Add to that, when you go online looking for tickets, in lots of cases, you are being led to a bootlegger and you don't even know it," explained the actor and director. Perry claims bootleggers are selling tickets for double and even triple the original price.

To make matters worse, Internet impersonators are claiming to either be Perry himself or claiming to work for him to charge top dollar for so-called meet-and-greets after the play. "Don't fall for this! That's not me," he followed up.
Perry is sorry that it's had to come to this saying, "To all of you who have bought tickets and made plans to be there I am so sorry. I really am, but my hands are tied." He did, however, mention to those who purchased tickets that a refund "should" be issued.
Perry announced last month that this would be his last touring play for a while — explaining to fans he has other projects in the works that require his time and attention.

It's unfortunate that he's had to alter his plans, once again.
