When Usher won primary custody of his two sons with ex-wife Tameka
Raymond last month, many thought their bitter war was over. But after
the judge ruled in Usher’s favor, Raymond filed papers asking for a new
trial. Now, Usher is fighting back, saying her claims are bogus and
filing his own paperwork asking that her request be denied, reports TMZ.
Raymond
claims that the judge in their original custody case was bias because
he received campaign contributions from Usher’s lawyer in the past.
Usher’s team is now claiming if Raymond’s wishes for a new trial are
granted a new trial, all trials where a lawyer contributed to a judge’s
campaign should be reversed. He’s also attacking her character in his
most recent filing, saying the motion "constitutes a continuum of
[Tameka's] vile and unsupported claims that every person who dared
testify against her ... is biased and tainted."
Usher and
Raymond were married in August of 2007 and he filed for divorce in June
of 2009 citing irreconcilable differences. At present time, Usher has
primary custody of their two sons, Usher Raymond V, 4, and Naviyd Ely
Raymond, 3, and both he and Raymond have legal custody.
