Stephon Marbury Had An Affair With Personal Chef, Was To Be Paid Almost $1M To Keep Quiet

Despite winning a championship over in China, Stephon Marbury stays losing. Court documents reveal that Starbury, who is married, "chopped down" the family chef at least five times after she was hired. The Brooklyn native even shelled out almost a cool $1 million to keep the affair on the low. Yeah, that didn't work.
The New York Post reports, that Marbury carried on an affair with Thurayyah Mitchell, who he hired as a private chef in 2006. If you're keeping up with dates, this means that Marbury was a member of the New York Knicks at the time. Also, Mitchell was hired when the Knicks were in the midst of a s-xual harassment lawsuit by former employee and executive Anucha Browne Sanders.
Things got dicey for the point guard when he fired Mitchell later on in the year. She claimed she was harassed while Marbury claims their relationship was consensual. Nevertheless, he offered to pay her $900,000 to keep quiet. All was going to plan until Marbury stopped making his payments in January 2010.
Marbury had dished out about $600,000 to that point (not a bad haul for a chef), but was taken to arbitration by Mitchell, of course.
“It is uncontroverted that during Ms. Mitchell's employment, she had a s-xual relationship with Stephon Marbury which she described as occurring on approximately five occasions,” the arbitrator found.
Mitchell said the star “made her believe that ‘keeping him happy' was a requirement of keeping her job,” the ruling said.
The other requirement was cooking for his wife, Latasha, and their three kids.
The arbitrator awarded Mitchell $330,000, saying she could have sued Marbury or sold her story for more money than she received, and that Marbury had his eyes open when he made the deal.
