Comedian Katt Williams is once again the target of bad press as reports have surfaced claiming he is getting sued over a recent Oakland, California concert.
Reports claim Williams and promoter Live Nation are on the hook in a class action lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit -- filed on the day before Thanksgiving in Alameda County, CA -- Katt's show ended after just 10 minutes ... but not before he "confronted a heckler, took his clothes off, and attempted to fight at least three audience members." The suit is seeking unspecified damages for "Katt Williams' non-performance." Williams has been stringing together one bizarre appearance after another as of late and was actually arrested in Oakland just two days before the show in question. (TMZ)
Details of Katt's Oakland concert meltdown emerged last week.
Angry fans demanded refunds after comedian Katt Williams' show Friday night at Oracle Arena disintegrated into chaos, with Williams delivering rambling monologues devoid of jokes and being dragged off by his own security after he challenged a heckler to fight. After Friday night's show, angry comments from fans poured in on Facebook and Twitter, with some complaining that Williams' show had ended after 10 minutes. Many said they expected a refund; ticket prices ranged from $33 to $94, plus service fees. (Mercury News)
A night before, the troubled comedian ran into some legal issues with Oakland police.
Comedian Katt Williams, in town for a Friday appearance at the Oracle Arena, was being questioned by police in connection with an assault in downtown Oakland, according to police. Another man was hit in the head with a bottle during the scuffle and taken to a hospital after the incident, which happened about 8 p.m. near the Courtyard Marriott in the 900 block of Broadway. Williams, a comedian, actor and rapper, is known for his role as Money Mike in "Friday After Next." (Marin Independent Journal)
In addition to this lawsuit, he also recently got sued by a former assistant.
It's only been a week since a former assistant of Williams filed a lawsuit against him, alleging the comedian caused "permanent injuries" sustained from a closed-fist punch. Add that to a few incidences of confronting hecklers in his audience -- one of which ended in a shoving match -- and a few arrests for "felony intimidation of a witness" and carrying a concealed weapon, and you have one hi-larious jokester ... or just another Wednesday night in Oakland.
