The Grammy's have released the list of 2013 nominees, with the 55th Annual Grammy's fast approaching in February.
A big early contender is Frank Ocean, whose "Channel Orange" is nominated for Album of the Year. Ocean is also up for Record of the Year for "Thinkin' 'Bout You" and for Best New Artist, and for six awards total. Kanye West and Jay-Z were also nominated for six awards each, which means there will definitely be some hip-hop representati on at the top.
Rihanna earned three nods, one for Best Pop Solo Performance for "Where Have You Been," plus for collaboratin g with Jay-Z on "Talk That Talk" and for the video for "We Found Love."
DJ Calvin Harris earned a nod on that track, and another for his song "Let's Go" with Ne-Yo. Avicii, Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia and Al Walser are all up for Best Dance Song, while Skrillex is also up for best EDM album. He will face off against Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Kaskade, and the Chemical Brothers.
In Best Rap Album, Drake will take on Lupe Fiasco, Nas, The Roots, Rick Ross, and 2 Chainz. Kanye, Jay-Z, Wale, Lil' Wayne and Drake are among those up for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Collaboratio n.
Tyrese and R. Kelly are some of the familiar faces up for best R&B album, along with Anthony Hamilton, tamia, and Robert Glasper Experiment. Usher, Estelle and Miguel will compete for best R&B performance.
Also garnering lots of award attention are Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, fun., and and Maroon 5. The 2013 Grammy Awards are held on February 10th, 2013. Check the entire list of nominees here.
