Live Nation Entertainment has announced plans to expand into Russia and the Ukraine. The company will open a new office in Moscow in 2013.
Tim McWilliams has been tapped as managing director of Live Nation Russia and Ukraine. He previously served as VP of European tour operations for Live Nation Global Touring.
"Establishing an office in Russia is the next step in our global expansion," Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino said in a statement. "Russia and nearby markets have become an important part of our global tours in recent years, and by establishing a local presence we can rapidly scale our concerts for over 200 million fans."
Upcoming Live Nation-promoted events in Russia include Lady Gaga concerts in St. Petersburg (Dec. 9) and Moscow (Dec. 12).
