After four decades of working in the entertainment industry, Janet Jackson is reportedly now a billionaire.
Multiple outlets report that Variety tallied up the 47-year-old's earnings over the years and found that Jackson is now a card-carrying billionaire.
According to E! News, the multi-talented performer reportedly earned $458 million from her concert tours;
$304 million from her roles in films including, "The Nutty Professor"
and "For Colored Girls"; $260 million in album sales; and netted more
than $81 million from sponsorship deals.
In addition to pulling in huge amounts of money over the course of
her career, Jackson is also married to a fellow billionaire. In
February, the "Together Again" singer admitted she had secretly tied the knot with Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana.
Rumors that the two were planning to marry started soon after the couple began dating in 2010, and Jackson even went on "Good Morning America" in October 2010 to deny the reports, before finally opening up about their secret marriage.
"The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true.
Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony," the couple said in a joint statement to "Entertainment Tonight" in February.
"Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective
favorite children’s charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is
respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy."
And as for those rumors that Jackson has said goodbye to the entertainment industry? False according to Jackson, who told Billboard she's currently working on a new project.
