LAURYN HILL'S BABY DADDY PREPARED FOR HER PRISON BID: "I WILL BE THERE FOR MY KIDS"

A week after Fugees member Lauryn Hill learned she would have to serve three months behind bars on a tax evasion conviction, her children's father Rohan Marley said he is fully prepared to step up.
According to Marley, he is more than willing and ready to make sure their kids are taken care of while Hill completes her time.
Lauryn Hill's 5-time baby daddy Rohan Marley says he plans to STEP UP his parenting during Lauryn's upcoming 3-month stint in federal prison ... telling TMZ, "I will be there for my kids." Hill and Marley dated for 13 years -- but never married -- and since they split in 2009, Lauryn has done the lion's share of the child-rearing. The kids range between the ages of 5 and 15. Rohan tells us he's always been involved in his children's lives ... but says, "I will be there even more while she is dealing with this ... to make sure that everything is fine." We're told ... Lauryn and Rohan agreed that the kids will primarily stay with family members, with Rohan getting involved as much as he can. (TMZ)
A few days ago, Hill penned an open letter thanking supporters likeStevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and more for writing letters to a judge in light of the publicized tax case.

She also thanked fans for their support and promised to write more in a future post.
"And thank you Jerald Miller, for taking the initiative to put this together. I also want to thank all of my family, friends, business associates, and fans who have called, emailed, sent texts, and posted messages of concern, encouragement, and support. Despite the strong backing, Lauryn still received three months in prison and home confinement a week ago.
Grammy-winning singer Lauryn Hill was sentenced Monday in New Jersey to 3 months in prison on federal tax charges. Hill pleaded guilty last year to not paying federal taxes on $1.8 million earned from 2005 to 2007. A judge two weeks ago said Hill had paid only about $50,000 of more than $500,000 she owes. She faced up to a year in prison on each of three counts. Her attorney was seeking probation for her. (ABC Local)
There is no information on how soon Lauryn Hill will begin her jail sentence.
