Nicki Minaj doesn’t do child’s play in neither her relationships nor her music career.
“People treat this business like it’s high school,” she tells Teen Vogue . “It can absolutely feel
like one big popularity contest, and you know what? I can’t be bothered. I can’t allow myself to
play ridiculous games with grown adults in the industry. I can’t be nice to someone just because
they’re hot right now. I can’t do it.”
The American Idol judge covers the popular youth mag in a cotton candy-colored dress, a far
cry from her recent make-under for ELLE. And although the reported mean girl to Mariah Carey
on the music competition reality show, Miss Minaj recalls her own experiences with not-so-nice
kids for the glossy.
