, Adele isn't afraid to rap, apparently.
U.K. rapper Tinie Tempah, whose 2010 debut Disc-Overy landed him a Mercury Music
Prize nomination, is back this week with his long-awaited sophomore LP, Demonstration. He stopped by Alan Carr: Chatty Man,
the UK's answer to late night, to discuss the project but revealed a
surprise collaboration with the somewhat-reclusive Adele that dates back
to 2011. "She was with me and Labrinth in the studio when he recorded 'Earthquake'," said Tempah of Adele, recalling his previous collaboration with his fellow UK emcee. "Nobody really knows this. She recorded a rap and she told us that if we ever played it to anyone she would sue us. So when you talk
to her next, ask her about the rap. It is really filthy as well."This isn't the first time Adele's name has been mentioned when it comes to hip-hop. Last month, Wiz Khalifa revealed that he and the British chanteuse had put in work on his O.N.I.F.C. follow-up. She also worked with famed hip-hop producer Rick Rubin on 21.
Adele has kept a relatively low profile since welcoming her son Angelo a year ago. Her last album was 2011's 7-time Grammy-winner 21, and she also scooped up an Oscar this past February for Best Original Song
for "Skyfall." She is rumored to be in the studio working on 21's follow-up. No word if she will rap on that ... yet.Tempah's new album Demonstration is out on Nov. 4.
