Looks like Coolio's Son will; Slide, Slide, Slippity Sliding to PRISON

Coolio's son is about to go on the exact opposite of a fantastic voyage -- he's headed to prison for at least 3.5 years ... TMZ has learned.

As we first reported, 22-year-old Grtis Ivey was arrested on November 14, 2011 for allegedly busting into a Las Vegas apartment with a gun and forcing the tenant into the bathroom while his female prostitute friend ransacked the place.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Ivey agreed to a deal earlier this week in which he agreed to plead guilty to a felony robbery charge ... and in exchange, prosecutors would drop the remaining four felony charges.

Under the plea agreement, Ivey will serve a minimum of 3.5 years in prison (and a max of 10 years depending on how much time the judge believes he deserves).

A judge will formally sentence Ivey on September 12.

Penn State Doesn't Give In! Joe Paterno Statue Will Remain Standing

The Penn State Board of Trustees will not order the removal of Joe Paterno’s statue, at least not in the immediate future and maybe not ever.

The trustees do not want to give in to the overwhelming media pressure to have the bronze statue taken down. They also considering the many alumni and students who continue to admire the man who was a part of the program for 61 years, according to Sporting News.

The Freeh Report released last week, revealed the alleged cover-up for convicted child molester, Jerry Sandusky. Despite Paterno’s acclaimed success as one of the greatest and iconic college football coaches of all time, his involvement in keeping Sandusky's secret tarnishes the legacy of JoePa. And his statue will remain as a reminder of the pain those children suffered at the hands of Sandusky, as long as it stands on the Penn State campus.

Paterno’s role in the cover-up of convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky, as alleged in the Freeh Report, makes the statue for so many a painful and infuriating reminder of Paterno’s abject failure to protect the innocence of Sandusky’s victims.

A trustee told ESPN.com:
“You can’t let people stampede you into making a rash decision. “The statue represents the good that Joe did. It doesn’t represent the bad that he did.”
Sources say other trustees believe that the statue will have to be torn down, eventually. However, most reached the consensus that it should remain standing for now. Still, others insisted that it should never be removed.
Another trustee said:
“It has to stay up, we have to let a number of months pass, and we’ll address it again. But there is no way, no way. It’s just not coming down.”
Bobby Bowden, former Florida State coach during Paterno’s reign at Penn State, is among the lead voices insisting the statue should be torn down immediately.
“You go to a Penn State football game and there’s 100,000 people down there and they see that statue and you know doggone well they’ll start talking about Sandusky,” Bowden told The Associated Press. “If it was me, I wouldn’t want to have it brought up every time I walked out on the field.”
Paterno, along with President Graham Spanier, Athletic Director Tim Curley and Vice President Gary Schultz, knew of the 1998 investigation of Sandusky, which the Freeh report claims. Paterno also convinced administrators to not expose Sandusky after he was seen raping a young boy in the shower in 2001, the internal investigation concluded.

What do you think, should the statue of “Joe Pa” continue to stand as a representation of the good that he’s done for Penn State’s athletes, students, and community; or should it be torn down, as it is a symbol of some of the most evil acts a human being can do to an innocent child?

Nick Cannon Says Mariah Carey Is Too Expensive For 'American Idol'

With the super recent departure of 'American Idol' judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, it seems the show's execs have been eyeing another diva to take a seat: Mariah Carey.

Though rumors of replacements have yet to be confirmed, Mimi's hubby Nick Cannon told TMZ that 'A.I.' would have to shell major bucks in order to land the "Obsessed" singer.

"I don't know if they can afford Mariah Carey," Cannon said. "That's a lot of money. If they gave JLo $20 million, they might have to double that!"

It's nice to know he can put a hefty price on his wifey.

"I'm Grief-Stricken" Sylvester Stallone Speaks On Son's Death

Action star Sylvester Stallone’s son Sage was found dead in his apartment and now police officials believe an accidental overdose is what killed him.

Sage was planning to be married as soon as next weekend according to a close family friend.

TMZ says the upcoming nuptials and activity on the budding filmmaker’s Facebook page in the hours leading up to his death raise questions about whether he intended to kill himself, and how long he was dead before he was discovered.

Sage had posted photos on Facebook just 17 hours before the housekeeper made a panicked 911 call to authorities.

Police officials believe an accidental overdose killed him. There was no suicide note left at the scene, but Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said prescription pill bottles were found in the room.

The L.A. county coroner’s office completed its autopsy on Sage Stallone on Sunday. Results are due back in four to six weeks.

Sage was the first of two sons Stallone had with his first wife, Sasha Czack. Sage made his acting debut in 1990's Rocky V and also appeared with his father in 1996’s Daylight.

Sylvester Stallone was at Comic-Con in San Diego promoting his new film The Expendables 2 when he heard the news, and is reportedly devastated, saying he wants "the speculation and questionable reporting" to stop.

Stallone told TMZ:
"When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain. Therefore I am imploring people to respect my talented son's memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha."
Sly goes on to say:
"This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives...Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory and soul left in peace."
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Stallone family during this time.
