She’s literally done it all! Supermodel Iman has conquered the
designer runways, fashion magazine covers, beauty industry with Iman
Cosmetics, and home shopping with Iman Global Chic at HSN. Now she is on
a mission to take her business acumen and penchant for everything
fabulous and create a website Destination Iman, that serves her audience of jetsetting fashionistas and fans.
The
ESSENCE cover model and ageless beauty tells us why she decided to
sashay across the digital divide and focus on globetrotting.
Note:
Iman cannot travel without her beauty products from Iman Cosmetics and
the one place on her bucket list where she’d like to travel is China.

What is the inspiration behind your new site?
IMAN:
I have never had a website besides Iman Cosmetics — never a website
only about me. I have Iman Cosmetics, I have Global Chic at HSN — which
is the number two fashion brand there — and I have Iman Home Fabrics.
So, when I decided I'm going to house them all under one umbrella, I was
so bored. It was like, "Me, me, me, me." I was like, this is boring.
This is why I've never done a website.
I had just turned 57 in
July, and people always ask me, "How do you look so good? What do you
do?" In this age of technology, a woman can't even lie about her age
anymore. You just Google something and everyone knows the truth. So I
thought, "Why don't I just create something to answer these questions?"
I've earned it. I've been in the fashion and beauty business too long.
So I created something that would house the brands but would be more
than that.
