Robin Roberts is keeping her head high during these troubling times. The ABC anchor who's away from her post to fight myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare blood disorder, and receive a bone marrow transplant posted in a blog, "My body is so weak, but not my mind. You give me the courage to keep going."
Roberts checked herself into the hospital last Monday after hosting a quiet gathering for her ABC family the night before. "The next morning I walked through the hospital doors, with my guardian angels – mom and dad – back together and blazing a trail ahead of me," wrote Roberts.
Since then, she's undergone daily chemo treatments and today was her last treatment. Unfortunately, the treatments have caught up with Roberts and she hasn't been feeling her best. For Roberts, Wednesday will be a "day of rest... The transplant is scheduled for Thursday morning," she concluded.
These past couple of weeks have been difficult for Roberts whose mother, Lucimarian Tolliver Roberts, passed away days before she was set to begin treatment. She tweeted last week, "I take each and every one of you with me in my heart. Light and love."
