Rihanna may have a bad girl persona, but she’s doing good for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
According to the Grio, the singer hosted a listening party turned benefit concert last night titled, “Rihanna & Friends” at Jay-Z’s 40/40 club in New York City. The event was scheduled to be free, but the decision to charge admission to help those affected by the disaster transformed it into a charitable event. “Now is the time for us to come together and do whatever we can to aid those in need,” she told the Daily News.
The pop star is certainly doing her part. She has already donated 1,000 sleeping bags and is also donating $100,000 the NYC Food Bank.
“It’s really difficult to see something so tragic going on and not be able to do anything about it,” Rihanna expressed in a recent interview. “There’s nothing you can control, it’s Mother Nature. It’s really sad what happened here.”
