Brandy Talks Whitney Houston Inspiration on '2/11'

Brandy Talks Whitney Houston Inspiration on '2/11' Album

Singer-actress Brandy Norwood will drop her sixth studio album, Two Eleven, this August. The album's title is not only her birthday, but it's also the day Whitney Houston passed.

"Her leaving on that day, for me, it was almost like it was her way of saying to me that you know what you have to do," she said, according to a Truee interview.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Brandy was inspired by Houston, and she's still shaken up over her death. "She completely blessed me and changed my life from the moment I saw her open her mouth to sing," said Brandy. "My whole life is dedicated to her."

Earlier this year, Brandy teamed up with Monica for the popular single "It All Belongs to Me." Since then, she has released an official single, "Put It Down," featuring Chris Brown.

"This project means so much to me. I've worked very hard on it," said Brandy. "It's just great to be back in music and do what I love to do consistently and full time."

This time around, Brandy says her album is about love and passion. "I feel like I've found that right place and the right people are in my life to help me fulfill this dream that I've had for a while," she said. "I think there is a purpose that I still have to fulfill. I was born to sing. I was born to inspire and to entertain."

The album also features production from Frank Ocean, Rico Love and Sean Garrett.
