Mary J. Blige to Be Mentor on ‘The Voice’

While ‘American Idol’ is playing musical chairs with its judges, The Voice is just adding more to their hot seats.

According to Rolling Stone, R&B queen Mary J. Blige will be a part of next season as a mentor on Adam Levine’s team.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Mary J. Blige,” said the Maroon 5 frontman, who  called on Robin Thicke and Alanis Morrisette to be his team advisers last season. “So it’s been great having her on The Voice as an adviser to my team.”

Blige is also excited about the collaboration. “I love Adam, he’s amazing,” she added. “I’m so happy to be working with him  and his team.”

Levine isn’t the only one to announce a new recruit; Blake Shelton recently plucked Michael Bublé for the show’s third season. No word on Christina Aguilera or Cee Lo Green‘s additions.

While auditions for The Voice are under way, there’s no doubt this season will be a star-studded one.
