Ron Perry Named Songs Music Publishing President and Head of A&R

Songs Music Publishing has named Ron Perry President and Head of A&R. CEO Matt Pincus, who Perry will report to, made the announcement yesterday (Oct. 1). Perry has been head of A&R title since the company was founded in 2004.

In his new position, Perry will oversee the acquisitions of new and upcoming writers and artists. He will also be in charge of all song-plugging activities. Based in New York, Perry will continue to manage Songs' pop, urban, and rock ventures.

"I am thankful to Matt for this opportunity to expand my leadership role at Songs and to continue to work with him and our incredibly talented staff" Perry said in a statement. "I'm not sure that Matt and I ever imagined that Songs would become one of the leading independent publishers in such a relatively short period of time."

"This enhanced role for Ron, who has built SONGS with me since I started it, underscores the strength and uniqueness of the company. "

Songs Music Publishing's roster includes the likes of Dev, Marsha Ambrosius, Bright Eyes, Sleigh Bells, and others. Recently, the company has had success in co-publishing such songs as Kanye West's "All of the Lights,", Tyga's "Rack City," M83's "Midnight City," and Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen's "Good Time.".SONGS also holds the rights to catalogs of several high-profile producers such as Pharell and Diplo.
