According to Forbes, Eddie Murphy is the most overpaid actor in Hollywood. After calculating how much his last three films (Imagine That, A Thousand Words, and Meet Dave) earned at the box office per dollar of pay, the publication found that for every dollar Murphy was paid, they returned an average of only $2.30.
Denzel Washington also made the list, returning an average of $6.30 for every dollar paid. Forbes however, did not include his latest hit, Flight, which has already earned $84 million on a $30 million budget. A movie must earn twice its production budget in ticket sales in order for it to turn a profit.
Other stars on the list included Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up, 27 Dresses, The Ugly Truth), Sandra Bullock(All About Steve, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close), and Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda, The Big Year).
