THIS TIME-LAPSE VIDEO SHOWS HOW THE STAPLES CENTER WAS TRANSFORMED FOR THE 2012 GRAMMY AWARDS

The countdown is officially on! As of today, there are only 16 days left until the 55th Grammy Awards are held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, which also serves as the home of theLos Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Los Angeles Kings. So, yesterday, the Grammy organizers released a time-lapse video of the Staples Center from the 54th Grammy Awards last February to show exactly how they managed to transform the space into a place worthy of hosting the biggest night in music.
It's remarkable to see how it happens, too. At home, you'd swear the Grammys were being held in a large venue like Radio City Music Hall. At least, that's what it looks like on TV. But, in reality, the stage in surrounded by hundreds of seats that are typically used during basketball and hockey games. And, the gigantic stage and screens that they put up are designed to bring the Staples Center to life. You'd never guess it was an arena if you didn't know that's where the Grammys were being held beforehand.
To get a better look at how the Staples Center gets transformed for Grammy night, watch the time-lapse video courtesy of the Grammys below. And, make sure you tune into the 2013 Grammy Awards on CBS on February 10 to see this year's set-up.
