Dre may have more billions in his future.
According to a new lawsuit posted by TMZ on July 10th, Dr. Dre wants
to stop cheap Chinese-made knockoffs of his headphone brand from
jacking his company's logo and ruining its reputation.
Sold through a
number of websites based in China, the fake headphones have reportedly
raked in 135 billion dollars in venue (yes, you read that number
correctly). Beats is suing to stop all sales of the forgeries and to
take over all of the domain names used by websites hawking the fakes.
But, more importantly, they also want ALL of the profits made by the
faux headsets. If successful, the lawsuit could easily win Dre and
Beats-owners Apple billions of dollars.

Beats points out in the suite that it's the headphone of choice for Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Diddy and tons of other celebrities, so it has a vested interest in protecting its trademark.
We're talking almost unfathomable amounts of money here.
