OutKast member Andre 3000 reportedly lost his mother Tuesday (May 28), however, specific details on the cause of death have not yet emerged.
Confirmation on the platinum-selling rapper's loss surfaced online late Tuesday night.
Andre "3000" Benjamin's mother Sharon Benjamin-Hodo has passed away, a representative for the musician and actor confirms to Billboard. Benjamin-Hodo was the founder and guiding force of The Starlight Camp for underprivileged children, which she ran out of the New Morning Light Missionary Baptist Church in Conley, GA -- the church of her husband, Pastor Robert Hodo. In lieu of flowers, continued support of The Starlight Camp is appreciated by the family, Benjamin's spokesperson notes. (Billboard)
Atlanta rapper Big Gipp immediately sent his condolences out after the news went public.

An Atlanta pastor named Jamil V. Willis also spoke on the unexpected passing.
"I just received a very disturbing phone call that Lady Sharon Benjamin Hodo passed away moments ago in her sleep.," he tweeted Tuesday.
