NFL star quarterback Cam Newton was injured Tuesday morning when his car flipped on a bridge overpass, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Newton, who plays for the Carolina Panthers, was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Update, 10:35 a.m.: According to published reports, Newton’s injuries appeared to be minor and he was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
